Read aloud and display settings
Open Read aloud & display options near the top of any page. Choose larger text, high contrast, roomier lines or reduced motion. These device choices apply across the website and take priority over My Oasis display preferences on this browser.
Choose an available voice language, regional accent and speed, then read the main content, the whole visible page or selected text. Pause, resume, skip a passage or stop anytime. Expand closed sections first. Reading starts only on request and stops when you leave the tab. Form-entry values, image content, embedded sign-in screens and external websites are not read by this tool.
Device voices are preferred. Online voices are optional and may send text to their provider. Availability and speech quality vary. If no voice is available, check your device’s speech settings or try another browser. This is read-aloud assistance, not a two-way voice conversation.
Screen readers and magnification
For navigation, form controls and broader device access, use your device’s screen reader or magnifier. The site includes headings, labels and keyboard controls, but these additions do not establish formal accessibility conformance. Browser zoom remains available.
Using this website
- Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls; use Enter or Space to activate buttons.
- The first link on each page skips to its main content.
- Increase text size with your browser’s zoom controls. Navigation wraps on small screens.
- Resource search filters have visible labels. Results and save messages are announced through status regions.
- Browse national directories without signing in or allowing location access.
Language and service access
A Spanish welcome and resource guide is available, with Spanish reading controls. Other pages remain in English. Reading voices may offer other languages and regional accents depending on your device. Voice selection changes pronunciation; it does not translate the content. Full-site translation and independent multilingual review are not yet complete. Ask individual organizations about language support, physical access, communication accommodations, and service availability.
