Language access with honesty and respect.
People should be able to understand their choices without being made to feel like an afterthought. OT Oraculum is expanding language access while clearly identifying what has—and has not—been reviewed by a person.
What is available now
- English pages authored directly by OT Oraculum.
- Spanish welcome and resource guidance authored for Spanish readers.
- Optional machine translation for commonly used community languages through Google Translate.
- Read-aloud voices and regional accents when supported by the visitor’s device.
Important translation limits
Machine translation can misunderstand health terms, benefit rules, eligibility requirements, cultural meaning and urgent instructions. It should be treated as a starting point—not as a verified translation. Confirm important information with the original organization or a qualified interpreter.
For emergencies, do not rely on machine translation. In the United States, call 911 for immediate danger. Call or text 988 for mental-health crisis support and ask the responder about language assistance.
External translation is unavailable on My Oasis and reviewer pages so private content is not intentionally sent to a translation service.
How resources describe language support
A listed language means the source reported that language or interpretation option when the resource was reviewed. An empty language field means “not confirmed,” not “English only.” Visitors should ask the organization about interpreters, translated documents, relay services and communication accommodations.
Help improve the words we use
Community members can report language that feels inaccurate, disrespectful, stigmatizing, culturally inappropriate or difficult to understand. Please include the page and suggested wording, but do not include medical records or sensitive personal information.
